港澳办副主任陈滋英在北京出席香港区全国政协委员会议的时候，套用英国十八世纪文豪Samuel Johnson的一句话形容香港：“没有人会厌倦香港，除非他厌倦兴旺发达。”《明报》说，约翰逊原句的中译是“没有人厌倦伦敦，除非他厌倦生活。”查此句出自James Boswell 的Life of Johnson 一书里一七七七年九月二十九日的纪录。那天，苏格兰作家鲍斯韦尔谈到他一旦长住伦敦，过去偶一盘桓的雅兴可能会消融殆尽，从此厌腻伦敦。约翰逊听了不以为然，说是有文化的人谁都不愿意离开伦敦。觉得伦敦厌腻等於活得腻烦了，因为伦敦实在是应有尽有了！（I suggested a doubt, that if I were to reside in London,the exquisite zest with which I relished it in occasional visits might go off, and I might grow tried of it.
